Liz

Liz lives in Edinburgh with her husband. They have three grown up children who have left home now but the house is often full of family and friends particularly at the Edinburgh Festival. Although a retired teacher she usually ends up teaching a couple of days a week. Liz learned piano as a child and has always enjoyed playing and making music with piano or guitar and likes accompanying children. She took up the accordion about 10 years ago starting out with Scots Music Group and discovered that she loves it. She hasn’t looked back. She plays with Ceilidh Caleerie for ceilidh dancing and at social events clubs and sessions. She also goes to the Feis every year in Ullapool. She is a keen cyclist going everywhere by bike and has been cycling for the MND association since 2014 when she cycled from London to Paris. Last year she cycled the Outer Hebrides to raise money for them. She thinks it is great fun playing in the orchestra and well worth all the travel. Only problem is she can’t take the accordion on her bike.
