ISLIP
11th - 13th November 2016
A very frosty weekend of blue skies and sunshine saw us all gathering in the Guide Centre near Islip. Fantastic facilities and a really good rehearsal space made for a very relaxing time.
We are all looking forward to the New Year when we should be extending our repertoire further.
Debbie was our host for the weekend and, as her band were playing at a Beujolais Nouneau evening at Islip village hall on the Friday night, the plan was that we would flash mob the poor unsuspecting participants to give them a taste of what they might expect and encourage them to come along to the concert the following night. Trying to get 12 accordionists with their impedimenta onto the back of the stage silently was no mean feat!
We were missing Jane but Hannah filled the breach magnificently once again. We had a really good turnout for the concert and it was very well received, the new look is proving to be extremely popular with lots of compliments and it was a lovely way to end the year.
