Felin Bach North Wales 28-30th September 2018

Just back from our second rehearsal weekend of 2018 which was held in Felin Bach in North Wales. Big thanks to everyone for making the effort – travelling such distances on a Friday is not something to be undertaken lightly! It says a lot about the dedication and commitment of all the members and the sheer pleasure we get from playing together.

It was sad that Gill and Jan couldn’t be with us this time but good to hear that they were both recovering well after recent operations and would hopefully bewith us when we meet again in 3 weeks time in Islip.

This weekend was purely a rehearsal weekend and Jane brought along more lovely new repertoire for us, including a fantastic new Tango! It was hard work and we put in a lot of time working on it, but it is so exciting to play!

The weather was extremely kind to us so we all went out for a short walk on the Saturday afternoon in the warm sunshine. And Sunday afternoon we had a fun session where we all swopped and played each others parts – and really good for
helping us to understand what the other sections are playing and how it all fits together. But by the end of Sunday my brain was completely dead – to such an extent that I couldn’t even remember where I had left the key to the place when Bill came to collect it!

It was so good to be back together again after an even longer summer break than usual. although some of the ladies had been over to Gill’s during the summer and had thoroughly enjoyed the Prosecco sessions in the hot tub! We still have two more full weekends with concerts coming up – one in Islip in October and then another in Stoke Newington in November, so we would love to see some of you there. Details of the concerts we will be playing can be found on the website and you can follow us on Facebook too.
